CCC #81 - COOK-OUT OR PICNIC CARD

Welcome to Wednesday which means it's a brand new challenge starting today over at CRICUT CARDZ CHALLENGE BLOG! Mary has asked Design Team #2 (ME!) to provide some inspiration for Ch#81 which is to make a COOK-OUT or PICNIC card using any Cricut cartridges & colors you'd like.

#167
Card base is cardstock paper from K & Company's Designer Paper, "Life's Little Occasions".

Bird & Grill cut from 3 BIRDS ON PARADE p.55 cut @ 4" with Shadow Feature.
(You know how I hate little pieces, so I cut the main image of the bird in orange instead of black so I wouldn't have to cut out his tiny beak, spatula & legs. I used a black Sharpie to color in his eye so it wouldn't be orange - because an orange eye looked kind of creepy. LOL)  I also used some POP DOTS to make the BIRD & GRILL stand out from the background.

Sun cut from SIMPLY CHARMED p. 50 @ 1 1/2"

Background hills (grass) cut from PLANTIN SCHOOL BOOK p. 69 using Shift & ROLY POLY Feature @ 1 1/2" and trimmed to fit the card horizontally.
Green grass blades cut from same page using main image @ 1".

Papers for sun and grass layers from *K & Company, "Berry Sweet" and *some from stash.

Hop over to CRICUT CARDZ CHALLENGE and play along with us! It's FUN!

Paper Playtime's Ch# 49 - Use RED, WHITE, & BLUE

On my challenge site today over at PAPER PLAYTIME, we have started our June's DIGI MONDAY Ch #49!  This month for our Digi Monday, the challenges is to use any Digi or Stamped ... Image or Sentiment... using the colors RED, WHITE, & BLUE.  However, there are a few ladies on the Design Team from countries other than the USA, and they will be using Their country's colors on their Digi projects.  Make sure you go to PAPER PLAYTIME.blogspot.com and see what all the Design Team has come up with. And don't forget to play along with us!  It's fun!

Here is my TALL card I made for the challenge using PINK CAT STUDIO digis. I love their digi images and that they also offer them in color!  It's really fast and easy to print them out already colors and move on to creating my card.

I was able to use PrintMaster to upload these 2 images, resize them, and add my sentiment with a boxed frame around everything before printing it out on White cardstock from Recollections. Easy Peasy. :)

#164

The font is Minya Nouvelle @ 14pts.
TALL Cards are cut @ 9" x 8" and scored @ 4" for the fold.  They will fit into regular Business Size envelopes also referred to as #10 envelopes.  These are much easier to find and cheaper than the A2 size envelopes.

All the pattern papers are from K & Company's 12"x12" paper pad called, "Life's Little Occasions".
The image & sentiment box is cut @ 3 5/8" x 5 3/4".
The blue mat for that is cut @ 3 7/8" x 6 /18".
The bottom blue mat is cut @ 3 1/4" x 1 7/8".
The bottom white mat is cut @ 3" x 1 3/4".
Ribbon from stash.
Both embellishments on front of the card as well as the one inside the card are all from Recollections "Americana" dimensional stickers.

The blue mat inside the card is cut @ 3 1/4" x 8".
The white mat inside is cut @ 3" x 7 /4".

Dear Santa...

It's never to early to let Santa know what you wish for Christmas.  Not in our daughter, Bonnie's, world anyway.  Bonnie is so excited that Cars 2 is getting ready to come out. She is eager to ask Santa for the movie and Wii game. Bonnie asked me to write the words for her and then she copied them. I thought what a great idea to make a Santa Card!

Card #163

I used an Action Wobble on Santa so he spins on the front. The above is me trying to take a picture of him spinning. Oh well, just use your imagination on that one.

Card base from Recollections cardstock.
All Christmas papers from DCWV Christmas Combo Stack.
Santa from SIMPLY CHARMED page 64 cut @ 4".

Merry Christmas!

Baby Boy Mini Album

Creation #160

I just finished making this Baby Boy Mini Album for my niece's baby shower this weekend. It took a long time to make, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

The above shows the difference inking around the edges can make.  To me, a project just doesn't look complete unless everything is inked around the edges.  :)  The pages are cut in the shape of a ONSIE.  There are 7 pages and each page is cut 4 times then stacked & adhered together for stiffness like chipboard.

In-between all the pages are scalloped circles for pictures on one side with stamped journaling lines on the other side.

Onsie p. 99 cut @ 7"

Everything is sponged around the edges in light brown.  All the papers are from DCWV Baby Boy Stack.  All the images including the ONSIE page shape  are from NEW ARRIVAL Cricut cartridge.  All the scalloped circles for pictures and journaling are cut from LACY LABELS the "MISS YOU" label @ 3 1/2" with Shadow feature.

Get ready for LOTS of pictures...
